FAMILY THERAPY
Family is the place of origin for all of us. Yet, not all family environments give us feelings of safety and relatedness. Sometimes problems in the family threaten to overwhelm it or break it apart.
The Center has a special mission to families. In addition to services for the various sub-units (children, couples, siblings), we specialize in treating families as a whole. Some of the difficulties which play themselves out in the family include:
- Acting out behaviors and school problems in children
- Adolescent estrangement, drug use and non-communicativeness
- Eating disorders
- Marital stress
- Divorce, remarriage, step and blended family issues
- Death of a family member
- Debilitating illness of a family member
- Abuse issues
- Diagnosis of a mental or behavioral disorder in the family
- Attention Deficit Disorder
- Depression
- Bi-Polar Disorder
- Oppositional Defiant Disorder
Even if things in your family seem hopeless, your are encouraged to call the Center for an appointment. We work with families every day and collectively have many years of experience helping families heal the pain that keeps them apart.
